Why Rosewood Baha Mar is #7 for families

Rosewood Baha Mar ranks #7 on our 2026 list of the best family hotels in the world. The case below explains why, the kids’ programme, the suite layout, the villas, and the alternatives we measured it against.

“On Cable Beach, Nassau: 237 rooms, suites and beachfront villas, the calm corner of a resort campus that also runs a water park, a golf course and a casino.”

The hotel itself

237 rooms, suites and beachfront villas on Cable Beach, opened in 2018 as Rosewood's Bahamas flagship. The polished, modern end of the Baha Mar campus.

Rosewood Baha Mar sits inside the Baha Mar resort, the multi-billion-dollar Cable Beach development that also holds Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and SLS Baha Mar, the Baha Mar Casino (the largest in the Caribbean) and the Jack Nicklaus Royal Blue golf course. Rosewood is the quietest of the three hotels; its rooms look out over Cable Beach and the Nassau skyline.

Accommodation runs from the entry rooms up through suites to the beachfront villas, which come with private pools and butler service and are the layout worth booking for a multigenerational trip. Connecting categories exist for families who want adjoining rooms rather than a full villa, and they cost considerably less, so weigh the villa premium against how much separate space you actually need.

Why it works for a family

A beach-resort family trip succeeds when the hotel takes the kids off the parents' hands without making the kids feel banished. The properties that earn family-list inclusion in beach destinations have the kids' club staffed by professionals (not interns), the pool depths zoned for toddlers and adults, and the in-villa or in-suite dining that handles a 6pm kids' dinner and a 9pm parents' dinner without negotiation. The Maldives, Caribbean, and Hawaiian flagships have spent decades refining this.

Rosewood is the hotel group that figured out how to be very specifically itself. For families Rosewood matters because the resorts in the portfolio, Baha Mar Bahamas, Rosewood Phuket, Miramar Beach Santa Barbara, Koh Samui, are calibrated for the milestone family trip, with kids clubs that are genuinely good and architectural privacy that lets parents actually disappear during their booked spa hours.

The grounds, the property's Cable Beach allocation, the heated outdoor swimming pools, the comprehensive Sense Spa (Rosewood's signature wellness brand), the fitness centre, the kids' programme, and the multi-restaurant complex within Rosewood, plus the broader Baha Mar complex amenities (the casino, the Royal Blue golf course, the Esther Rolle Cultural Center, the multi-restaurant offerings across the complex's other hotels), make Rosewood Baha Mar comprehensively-equipped within an even-larger integrated resort context.

Dining spans several rooms: Costa for coastal, Latin-leaning cooking; Commonwealth for all-day Bahamian; Malam for Indian and seafood; and Tingum on The Sand, the beach fish shack. Service is the global Rosewood standard delivered by a largely Bahamian team. Step across the campus and Rosewood guests can also use the other hotels' restaurants, including Marcus Samuelsson's room at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. The honest trade-off: this is resort-scale, not a hideaway, so families who want quiet seclusion over a casino-and-water-park campus should look at The Ocean Club instead.

Where it ranks against rivals

For a 2026 family trip at this level, the closest neighbours on our list are Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru (#6), Four Seasons Resort O'ahu at Ko Olina in Hawaii (#8), and Four Seasons at The Surf Club in Miami (#9). Rosewood Baha Mar earns #7 on the calm-within-scale combination, beachfront villas plus a campus that runs the activities. For a true island hideaway rather than a resort campus, the Maldives or O'ahu runners-up may suit better.

Practical: getting in

Why this hotel works for family

Editorial · #7 on the Top 20 Family Hotels 2026 list

Rosewood Baha Mar is the quietest of the three Baha Mar hotels on Cable Beach (Grand Hyatt and SLS take the rest of the campus), so a family gets butler service and a small-property register while one of the Caribbean's largest resort campuses sits across the door.

That campus runs the Royal Blue golf course, the casino (adults-only and well separated), and the Baha Bay water park, the summer-stimulus a smaller property could never host on its own grounds. It also means crowds at peak: book the villas for distance from the day-trip foot traffic.

For multigenerational stays the beachfront villas, with private pools and butler service, do the heavy lifting; Sense, A Rosewood Spa, is the parents' anchor. Costa runs adult evening dining and the children's menus are taken seriously across the restaurants. Nassau airport is about 25 minutes away. Best for the family stay where resort-campus scale matters but the staying hotel's calm does too.
