Sina Villa Matilde is in Piedmont, not on Lake Como
We previously listed a hotel called Sina Villa Matilde within our ranking of the best Lake Como hotels for a proposal. That was an error, and we have removed it. Sina Villa Matilde is a genuine Sina Hotels property, but it is a country residence in Romano Canavese, in the Piedmont countryside between Turin and Aosta. It is not on Lake Como, it does not face Bellagio, and the room count and lakefront details we had published for it were incorrect. We do not keep pages that place a hotel in the wrong region or describe features it does not have.
The real Sina Villa Matilde is an eighteenth-century villa set in a large park roughly an hour north of Turin, with 43 rooms and suites, an outdoor pool, a tennis court and a spa. It is a lovely Piedmont base, but it has nothing to do with a Lake Como proposal, so we have taken it out of that list rather than dress it up as something it is not.
