"The room product is the most generous in the city by square metre, the banquet kitchen out-scales every competitor by a factor of two, and the property is where Amman weddings actually want to be held. A working, full-service luxury house with the volume to handle it."

The Hotel

Fairmont Amman opened in 2017 inside a 25-storey tower at 6 Beirut Street on the 5th Circle, two streets removed from the embassy belt of Abdoun, and is the largest five-star room count in the kingdom at 316 keys. The site was acquired by the family office of Jordanian businessman Sabih Masri, and the brief to the design team (Wilson Associates of Singapore) was to produce a city hotel that could host every state banquet, royal wedding, and Gulf family gathering of the year without compromising the leisure floors. The result is a tower where the lower ten floors are conference, banquet, and ballroom volume; the next ten are room floors; and the top five are Fairmont Gold, suites, and the rooftop pool.

The 316 rooms and suites run from a 42 square metre Deluxe King at entry to the 460 square metre Royal Amman Suite on the 24th floor, with a colour palette of cream marble, brushed gold, and ivory leather that the property refreshed in late 2024 across all categories. Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows, a soaking tub, and a separate rainshower; Fairmont Gold floors (levels 20 to 23) include a private lounge with six pressed services through the day and a separate breakfast room with floor-to-ceiling glass onto the western city.

The food programme is led by Mizaan for fine-dining Levantine, Tagine for Moroccan, Verdine for Mediterranean and all-day breakfast, and Hookah Lounge in the lobby. The ballrooms are the property's real differentiator. The 1,800 square metre Royal Ballroom (column free, 6.5 metre ceilings) is the only room in the city that can host a true Gulf-scale wedding banquet, and the kitchen behind it is the largest hotel banquet kitchen in Jordan. Weekend wedding bookings run twelve months out and the property's operations team handles the city's most demanding private events without breaking sweat.

Service tracks half a step behind the Four Seasons but ahead of every other house in the kingdom: the staff-to-room ratio is roughly 1.8 to 1, the front office speaks Arabic, English, French, and Russian as standard, and the concierge handles Petra and Dead Sea day trips with the same pace as the Four Seasons next door. The rooftop pool on level 25 with the panoramic city view is the property's other set piece, and the Willow Stream Spa adds twelve treatment rooms, a couples hammam, and a separate gym for women. For families and large-format private events Fairmont is the better choice in Amman; for diplomatic business the Four Seasons holds a small lead.

Best Occasion Fit

Business

For business in Amman Fairmont is the better booking when your meeting is large or your group is dispersed across cities. The conference floors are the city's deepest, the Royal Ballroom is the only column-free 1,800 square metre room in the kingdom, and Fairmont Gold delivers the executive lounge programme at half the per-night premium of the Four Seasons club tier. Pair the ballroom with the Hookah Lounge for late conversations.

Family Holiday

Fairmont is the cleanest family booking in Amman. The Family Suite categories run to 90 square metres with two queens and a separate living room, the rooftop pool has shallow children's section and certified lifeguards, and the kids' programme runs daily across the summer. Sized to absorb extended-family travel without the room shortage that constrains smaller competitors.

Anniversary

For an anniversary at Fairmont book a high-floor Junior Suite for the city view, take dinner at Mizaan for fine Levantine, and arrange a couples hammam in the spa the following morning. The hotel handles flowers, room set, and a Royal Amman Suite upgrade on availability with the practiced ease of a property that hosts more milestone events than any competitor.
