The Hotel

Bungalows Key Largo opened in 2019 at Mile Marker 99 on the bayside, and within two seasons had quietly become the most decorated newcomer in the Florida Keys — the first and still only adults-only (21+), no-passport, all-inclusive resort in the continental United States. The 12-acre site, originally a 1950s motel and later a private estate, was reimagined by Florida developer Antonio Sementilli into a tropical-botanical sanctuary edged by 1,000 feet of Gulf Stream shoreline, designed to deliver an all-inclusive Caribbean experience without leaving Florida airspace.

All 135 freestanding bungalows are spaced for privacy among palms, mangroves, and orchids, with no two views identical. Each unit offers a king bed, soaking tub, outdoor garden shower, and private veranda; waterfront categories add direct bay access. Rooms are deliberately understated — whitewashed plank ceilings, sisal flooring, and crisp linens — letting the landscape carry the design. The bungalows were refreshed in 2024 with new soft furnishings and upgraded bathroom fixtures while preserving the resort's signature plantation-meets-tropical-modern restraint.

Five restaurants and three bars are included in the nightly rate, alongside premium spirits, daily turndown, daily replenished minibar, and most experiential add-ons. The flagship dining venue is Fish Tales, a waterfront seafood-forward room serving Keys-caught snapper, hogfish, and stone crab in season; Sea Señor offers Latin-Mediterranean small plates; The Pearl is the intimate fine-dining option (reservation only); plus Coco Mae poolside and Bogie's Café for casual all-day fare. The Zen Garden Spa is included in the rate to the extent of two complimentary 30-minute rituals per stay; longer treatments are paid. Group yoga, watersports (kayaks, paddleboards), and the Peloton gym are unlimited.

The proposition is calibrated specifically to couples — adults-only enforcement is strict, the property accepts no day-trippers, and the layout is designed for privacy rather than scale. The result is the only Keys address where a Wednesday-to-Sunday all-inclusive booking is structurally an upgrade over the same nights at a per-night five-star: drink-by-drink budgeting disappears, restaurant decisions disappear, and the 1,000-foot private shoreline never has more than a hundred guests on it. For honeymoons, anniversaries, and milestone wellness resets the Bungalows model has no direct domestic competitor.

Best Occasion Fit

Honeymoon

Bungalows is purpose-built for honeymoons. The adults-only enforcement is non-negotiable; the freestanding bungalow with private veranda and outdoor shower delivers genuine seclusion; and the all-inclusive premium spirits, five restaurants, and complimentary spa rituals mean the only decision required after check-in is which of the four water-edge daybed clusters you want for sunset. Waterfront category and the Honeymoon Package upgrade are the standard booking.

Anniversary

For milestone anniversaries the structure works precisely because it removes all friction — there are no children to navigate, no day-trippers to crowd the bar, no à la carte additions to track on the bill. The Pearl reservation-only fine-dining room is the celebration dinner; the Zen Garden Spa offers couples treatments; and the waterfront bungalow categories on the Gulf Stream side hold the property's best sunsets.

Wellness Retreat

The wellness layer is more substantial than at most all-inclusives — daily yoga is included, the Peloton gym is unlimited, the spa offers Ayurvedic and clean-living menus, and the Sea Señor and Coco Mae kitchens both run plant-forward Keys-Mediterranean menus. The 12 botanical acres, the 1,000 feet of private shoreline, and the strict adults-only enforcement combine into a digital-detox proposition that is rare in Florida.
