The 246-room Indo-Portuguese village resort on 45 acres of beachfront garden at Arossim, formerly Park Hyatt Goa, now operated by ITC Hotels as part of Marriott's Luxury Collection. One of India's largest hotel pools, the Kaya Kalp Royal Spa, and Goan cooking at Tempero.
The short answer: ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa (formerly Park Hyatt Goa) is a 5-star, 246-room beachfront resort on Arossim Beach at Cansaulim in South Goa. The draws are one of India's largest hotel pools, the Kaya Kalp Royal Spa, and Goan cooking at Tempero, on a 45-acre Indo-Portuguese village estate.
"An Indo-Portuguese village laid out at the scale of a small estate: 45 acres of garden, one of the country's largest hotel pools, the Kaya Kalp Royal Spa, and a whitewashed calm that has survived the change of operator intact."
The resort opened in 2003 on a 45-acre stretch of beachfront garden at Arossim Beach in Cansaulim, the quieter end of the South Goa coast, about fourteen kilometres from Dabolim Airport and twenty kilometres north of Margao. It launched as Park Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa and traded under that name until 2018, when ITC Hotels took over management and rebranded it ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, part of Marriott's Luxury Collection. The buildings, gardens, and beachfront are unchanged: a village of low whitewashed pavilions with terracotta-tile roofs, dark Portuguese-style shutters, and deliberately winding garden paths, arranged around a multi-level lagoon-style pool that ITC describes as one of the largest hotel pools in India.
Two hundred and forty-six rooms and suites make up the inventory. The Premium Rooms (Garden View, Lagoon View, Pool View, and Sea View) run to around 41 square metres, generous for the Indian beach market, each with a private balcony onto the gardens or one of the pools. Above them sit the 85-square-metre Suites (Lagoon View, Sea View, and the Lap Pool Suite with its own plunge pool), the 127-square-metre Luxury Suite, and the 172-square-metre Presidential Suite. The room product is comfortable rather than cutting-edge; the reason to book here is the estate and the pool, not the interior design.
Dining runs across four restaurants and two bars. Tempero is the Goan kitchen, the one to book, working through the coastal Portuguese-influenced repertoire of xacuti, recheado, and a properly made vindaloo. Kebabs & Kurries is ITC's signature Northwest Frontier Indian room, one of the group's strongest brands; Ottimo Cucina Italiana handles the Italian menu; and the Pavilion at the Village Square is the all-day multicuisine venue for breakfast buffets and casual meals. Farol is the bar, and there is a separate pool bar. The wellness anchor is Kaya Kalp, The Royal Spa, a 3,344-square-metre standalone spa that is among the largest and most considered in the Indian hotel market, with Ayurvedic and international treatment programmes.
The active programme covers tennis courts, a fitness centre, beach and lawn volleyball, a games room, cycling, and Ollie's Club for children, alongside direct access to Arossim Beach. The position is the second half of the case: Arossim is among the quietest stretches of the South Goa coast, a long unbroken run of sand with the older fishing village immediately inland and the Three Kings Chapel a short drive away. One honest caveat: some long-time guests who knew the property in its Park Hyatt years feel service consistency has softened under the new operator, so set expectations on the estate and the spa rather than on flawless five-star polish.
The 45-acre footprint, the lagoon-style pool, Ollie's Club, the broad lawns, and the beach volleyball make this one of the strongest family bookings in Goa. Two Premium Rooms cover most family configurations, while the Luxury and Presidential Suites suit multi-generational parties. The Pavilion buffet handles every dietary brief, and the shallow pool sections are well suited to younger children.
A South Goa anniversary here scales by category: a Sea View Suite for a quiet weekend, the Lap Pool Suite for a milestone. Tempero handles a private Goan tasting dinner; Kaya Kalp runs couples' treatments in the spa; and the lawns host private set-up dinners with notice. The garden estate is large enough that a quiet corner is never far away.
Kaya Kalp, The Royal Spa is the wellness draw, one of the largest hotel spas in India at 3,344 square metres, with Ayurvedic and international programmes and dedicated treatment suites. Combine it with the beach, the lawns, and the pool for a soft, hotel-based wellness stay rather than the stricter residential format of the dedicated Kerala retreats.
