Amàre Marbella Beach Hotel

A 236-room adults-only beachfront hotel on Avenida Severo Ochoa — a five-minute walk from Marbella's old town and Plaza de los Naranjos, with a rooftop infinity pool, the Belvue Rooftop Bar, and the cleanest urban-beachfront offer in central Marbella.

Bachelor / Bachelorette Solo Retreat Anniversary Adults-Only

"The Costa del Sol's most considered urban-beachfront proposition — adults-only, properly priced, five minutes' walk to the old town, and the only Marbella hotel that pairs a working bar programme with a working in-town location."

The Hotel

Amàre Marbella opened in 2014 as the flagship of the Fuerte Group's adult-only Amàre brand — a Spanish hotelier founded in Marbella in the 1950s that converted what had been the four-star Fuerte Miramar property into the contemporary adults-only Amàre as part of a comprehensive 2013–14 renovation. The building sits directly on the seafront at the eastern end of Marbella's town beach, on Avenida Severo Ochoa, five minutes' walk from the Plaza de los Naranjos and the entrance to the old town. The architectural footprint is honest — a nine-storey contemporary block rather than a low-rise resort — but the 2014 redesign by Madrid studio HC Arquitectos handled the contemporary interior register cleanly, and the rooftop pool and Belvue Sky Bar give the property its strongest single feature.

There are 236 rooms across ten categories, organised by view and room type. Standard rooms (Sea View, Lateral Sea View, City View) run 25 square metres with private balconies; the upper categories include Sea Front (front-sea position with full balconies), Premium (corner units with larger balconies), and the Suites — Junior, Senior, and the Amàre Suite at 60 square metres. The 2024 soft refurbishment refreshed the soft furnishings and added the contemporary palette that the property's earlier interior had begun to date away from. The build quality is honestly four-star rather than five-star, but the property is priced at four-star and the value proposition is the clearest in Marbella at the price tier.

The defining feature is the rooftop. The infinity pool, the Belvue Sky Bar, and the Belvue Rooftop Restaurant sit on the ninth floor with the front of the deck cantilevered over the seafront, and the rooftop is the property's working evening room — DJ from seven, the bar runs to one, and the rooftop is open to non-resident guests on a reservation basis from June through September. At ground level the hotel has direct beach access, a beachfront pool, two further restaurants (Messina, the Argentine grill, and Hayaca, the Latin-Caribbean room — both run by Mauricio Giovanini, the Michelin-starred chef whose flagship Messina restaurant the hotel acquired and incorporated in 2018), the Amàre Spa with hammam and treatment rooms, and a small gym.

The position is the second proposition. The walk into Marbella's old town is five minutes flat along the Paseo Marítimo seafront promenade; the Plaza de los Naranjos and the restaurant grid of the Casco Antiguo are immediately beyond; Puerto Banús is a 15-minute taxi west; the Marbella Avenida tennis club is ten minutes inland. No other Marbella hotel of comparable register sits in this position, and for travellers whose evening agenda is the old-town tapas and bar grid rather than the Golden Mile resort restaurants, Amàre is the cleanly correct booking. The adults-only register and the rooftop bar programme make it a particularly natural fit for groups travelling without children — the most consistently busy of the central-Marbella properties for bachelor and bachelorette parties in May–June and September.

Best Occasion Fit

Bachelor / Bachelorette

Amàre is the calibrated Marbella bachelor/bachelorette booking. The adults-only register removes the family-resort overlap; the rooftop pool and Belvue Sky Bar handle the in-house programme; Puerto Banús nightlife is a 15-minute taxi west; the old-town tapas grid is a five-minute walk east. The hotel handles group bookings of eight to twenty without flinching and arranges private rooftop sections with two weeks' notice. May, June, and September are the calibrated months — meaningfully cheaper than July and August and with the rooftop already programmed.

Solo Retreat

For solo Costa del Sol travellers Amàre handles the brief better than the Golden Mile resorts, which are calibrated toward couples and families and can feel unfriendly at a single occupancy. The Standard Sea View at single occupancy is the cheapest seafront five-star-equivalent in central Marbella; the rooftop and the pool deck are easy single-traveller spaces; the walk into town gives the day enough structure without committing to it. The Amàre Spa hammam handles the rest of the afternoon.

Anniversary

For a calibrated Marbella anniversary that prefers the town to the resort circuit, Amàre is the cleanly correct booking. The Premium Sea Front room or the Amàre Suite is the room; Messina at dinner is the destination; the rooftop sunset is the moment; the old-town walk afterwards closes the night. Significantly lower nightly rates than the Golden Mile alternatives mean the savings buy the dinner-and-jewellery brief at the same total budget.
